Redwood City, Calif. -- Interana, the Redwood City-based developer of a behavioral analytics tool designed to help clients learn more about their customers' digital behavior, said on Tuesday it has landed $18 million in a new round of funding, led by Vertex Ventures. Battery Ventures, Data Collective, Allen Company, Fuel Capital and Index Ventures also took part in the round, which increased the company's total backing to $46.2 million. Interana said it will use the latest proceeds to support its next phase of growth, expand its customer base -- which currently includes Bing, Tinder, Reddit, Asana and Azure -- and bolster product development activities. o Francisco Partners, Elliott Management Complete Deal for Dell Software

San Francisco -- Francisco Partners, the San Francisco-based technology private equity firm, and hedge fund manager Elliott Management said Tuesday they have completed their more than $2 billion acquisition of Dell Software Group from the Texas-based computer giant. The deal was first announced in June. The acquisition also includes tech security company SonicWall and business software developer Quest Software, both of which Dell acquired in 2012. Both now will operate as independent companies. "We believe there is significant opportunity to create value for all stakeholders involved by operating Quest and SonicWall as two separate companies," said DJ Deb, Francisco's co-founder and CEO. "Both companies have very strong product portfolios and loyal customers, but operate in very different markets. As standalone businesses, Quest and SonicWall will have the resources, focus and independence required to drive the next stage of growth for each company." Jeff Hawn and Bill Conner will become the CEOs of Quest and SonicWall, respectively.
